Andra Day

Powerful, inspiring, beautiful– those are just a few words that illustrate the force that is Andra Day. With a voice that can only be described as God-given, Andra has unapologetically chartered her own course for success.

Hailing from Southeast San Diego, this SoCal native dedicated her life to the arts at a young age. Between singing in her church choir and diligently studying dance, theater, and music in school, it’s no surprise that she has become an internationally recognized and respected musician and singer.

Her full-length debut Cheers to the Fall [Buskin Records / Warner Records] garnered a “Best R&B Album” nomination and her RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum single “Rise Up” received a nod for “Best R&B Performance” at the 2016 GRAMMY® Awards. The song has since become the anthem to the Black Lives Matter movement, providing the audio heartbeat for activists and changemakers across the world. Andra quickly followed in 2017 with the moving anthem “Stand Up For Something” [feat. Common] from the Marshall official soundtrack album and film. The song received a nomination for “Best Original Song” at the 2017 Academy Awards.

Andra’s ability to connect with audiences everywhere and her commitment to giving back has allowed her to share the stage with a diverse group of people from Michelle and Barack Obama to Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, Common and Bonnie Rait. Her undeniable beauty and vivacious personality have graced the cover and pages of Essence, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, The New York Times, Vibe, Vanity Fair and more.

In 2021 Andra made her acting debut starring as her idol and biggest musical influence, Billie Holiday, in the biopic The United States vs Billie Holiday, directed by Oscar-winner Lee Daniels. Marking a life and career-defining moment, Andra Day is sure to gain critical acclaim for her fully immersive transformation into the legend that is Billie Holiday.

Matt Barnes

Matt Barnes played professional basketball player for 14-seasons in the NBA and was a world champion with the 2017 Golden State Warriors. Known as one of the most outspoken, explosive athletes of his generation, Matt flourished on court with his iconic trash-talking, “me-against-the-world” attitude.  He has now taken that same mentality to his ventures off the court in both business and entertainment which has elevated him to being of the most powerful forces in sports media.

After studying history at UCLA, Matt was originally selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2002 NBA draft.  He later signed with the Los Angeles Clippers for the second half of the 2003-04 season. From there, Mat signed with the Sacramento Kings before getting traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. In 2006, BARNES signed with the Golden State Warriors, where he contributed to a season that is distinguished for the improbable upset of the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs. In the following years, he signed with the Orlando Magic, LA Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, & the Sacramento Kings, before returning to the Golden State Warriors where he secured a championship ring in the 2016-17 season. Matt was always considered to be one of the more popular players on the teams he played for with both players and fans who embraced his work ethic and team-first mentality.

After retiring in 2017, he transitioned into a premier NBA analyst on ESPN, debating the landscape with on-screen personalities such as Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman.

In 2019, Matt teamed up with former NBA player Stephen Jackson to debut Showtime’s All the Smoke podcast. Both he & Jackson, the two most brash and unapologetic champions in the NBA, tackle everything from basketball to politics to LA lifestyle & culture. All the Smoke has become one of the world’s largest, most discussed sports podcasts in the past year, featuring an impressive array of guests such as the late Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Dwayne Wade.  All the Smoke has become a destination for both the casual and dedicated fan as well as the place for top tier guests to be interviewed and break news.

Off the court, Matt also founded Athletes Vs Cancer (AVC) in honor of his late mother Ann who lost the battle to the disease in 2007.  With a mission to provide patients and their families resources to fight, AVC partners with research institutions and celebrities to enhance public awareness of innovative treatment methods with the ultimate goal of prevention.

Matt is also the proud father of three sons.

Kendrick Sampson

Growing up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, Kendrick Sampson was surrounded by musicians and artists, and naturally gravitated to the arts. His work ethic, paired with a natural charismatic personality, took him from one project to the next, where he now plays Nathan on HBO’s Emmy nominated comedy series, “Insecure.”

Kendrick found his breakout role as Jesse on the hit CW series, “The Vampire Diaries.” In early 2014, he secured a series regular role on the Fox event series, Gracepoint alongside heavyweights Nick Nolte, Anna Gunn, Jacki Weaver and Michael Pena. In 2015, Kendrick joined the cast of the ABC hit series, How To Get Away with Murder as Caleb Hapstall and in 2017, Sampson recurred on the Showtime comedy “White Famous” as well as the CW hit series, “Supernatural” and “The Flash.”

The young star recently stared in Freeform’s feel good holiday film “Ghosting”, which shared a cautionary tale of texting while driving and coming together as a family. In the film, the holiday film tells the quirky and heart-warming story of Jess (Aisha Dee), who goes on the greatest first date of her life, but inadvertently “ghosts” Ben (Sampson) when she tragically dies in a car accident on the way home. Most recently, Kendrick stared in Channing Godfrey People’s MISS JUNETEENTH which explores the journey of Turquoise Jones, and the story of a dream deferred.

Kendrick uses his voice to empower marginalized communities and to shine light on issues of inequity. His activism is focused on racial justice, specifically intersectionality within criminal justice reform and uniting the oppressed Black, Brown & Indigenous communities. He is a proud supporter of the Standing Rock and Black Lives Matter movements, progressive political campaigns, and social justice education. A true advocate for change and community building, Sampson is in the third year of BLD PWR, an organization committed to taking action and how to do so in a healthy way. The ultimate goals are to build up the next wave of activists while providing resources and tools for equitable change on a grassroots level.

Van Jones

Van Jones is a CNN host, political commentator, Emmy Award-winning producer, and author of three New York Times best-selling books: The Green Collar Economy (2008), Rebuild the Dream (2012) and Beyond the Messy Truth: How We Came Apart, How we Come Together (2017).

Van has also found success as a social entrepreneur, having founded and led many thriving enterprises including the REFORM Alliance, Color of Change, the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and the Dream Corps, which works to close prison doors and open doors of opportunity in the green and tech economies.

In 2009, as the Green Jobs Advisor to the Obama White House, he oversaw an $80 billion dollar investment in clean energy jobs.

Van was the main advocate for the Green Jobs Act. Signed into law by George W. Bush in 2007, the Green Jobs Act was the first piece of federal legislation to codify the term “green jobs.” During the Obama Administration, the legislation has resulted in $500 million in national funding for green jobs training.

Van has stewarded several bipartisan legislative and advocacy efforts, racking up wins under the last four US Presidents: Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump. Jones’ most recent victory was advocating successfully for the passage of the FIRST STEP Act, which the New York Times calls the most substantial breakthrough in criminal justice in a generation.

A Yale-educated attorney, Van has won numerous awards, including the World Economic Forum’s “Young Global Leader” designation, Rolling Stone’s 2012 “12 Leaders Who Get Things Done”, TIME’s 2009 “100 Most Influential People in The World”, the 2010 NAACP Image Award, a 2017 WEBBY Special Achievement Award, a 2019 Lumiere Award and a 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Interactive Program.
